Add drama and texture to your landscape/seascape paintings by combining paint with various media including ink, oil pastel and/or wax crayon. By the end of the workshop, you will be able to apply ink to a painting to enhance tonal contrast and create texture with ink and oil pastels and/or wax crayons.

These will include demonstrations by tutor; individual practice by student; instruction on a group and individual basis; question and answer, etc.


Set of water-based paints (watercolour, gouache or acrylic), brushes and paper suitable for your chosen medium, 2 pots for water, palette, drawing board, masking tape. Ink, any you have already such as fountain pen ink (black Parker Quink), acrylic Sepia ink, Winsor & Newton inks, etc., dip pen, granulation medium (if you have any) for use with watercolours, sketch pad, 2B pencil, rubber, ruler, plastic cover to protect tables. Any other painting equipment you have. NB I’ll have some inks, dip pens and granulation medium available to use. Own reference material, photos of textures in landscapes, seascapes, rocks, cliffs, trees foliage, etc. Bring your own packed lunch and drink.

Main car park is behind the hall. Disabled access at the front. It is on the ground floor and accessible for wheelchairs, with disabled accessible toilet. Tea and coffee will be available.
