This course is aimed at beginners. Each week one or two topics will be covered to enable you to gain confidence and the skills to create your own watercolour paintings. A variety of techniques and subjects will be covered.

These will include demonstrations by tutor; individual practice by student; instruction on a group and individual basis; question and answer, etc.


For the first session please bring: Students’ quality watercolour paints (e.g. Winsor& Newton ‘Cotman Student Watercolour’), good quality ‘Bockingford’ watercolour paper (size A4 140lb (300gsm), ‘NOT’ (or cold pressed) surface), a variety of soft watercolour brushes, 2 large pots for water, drawing board to attach paper, masking tape, pencil (HB), sketch pad, newspaper or plastic table cloth to protect table, apron or similar to protect clothes.

Car parking is alongside the front and one side of hall. Tea and coffee provided at a small charge. It is on the ground floor and accessible for wheelchairs, with disabled accessible toilet.
