I aim to encourage you to set your camera to manual control! We shall cover the basics of correct exposure and how these controls can be used creatively. We shall, weather permitting; go outdoors to put theory into practice. You will need a digital camera that allows you to select manual exposure control.

Beginners

If you wish to book a place on one or more course(s), please email, telephone or write to us to check there is a space available. Payment details will be given after which we shall hold your place for 3 days to allow you time to pay either by BACS or by cheque. For further details please see Booking.

Illustrated talk; demonstration; practical; individual and group instruction; question and answer.

You will need to bring your camera, which will need controls that allow you to select full manual control over the exposure (i.e. aperture / f-stops and shutter speeds). Read your camera manual to check. Ensure your camera’s battery is fully charged (plus a spare?) and you bring the correct media card for your camera. Your camera manual, a tripod and any other lenses for your camera will be useful if you have them. A local, outdoor session is planned, weather permitting, so please bring suitable clothes and footwear. Please bring a packed lunch.
