This course is aimed at beginners and those with some experience and will be structured around demonstrations, set work and students’ own projects. Skills and confidence in the techniques of pen drawing with watercolour and ink washes will be developed. A variety of subjects will be covered.

These will include demonstrations by tutor; individual practice by student; instruction on a group and individual basis; question and answer, etc.
For the first session please bring watercolour paints, A3 cartridge drawing pad, good quality ‘Bockingford’ watercolour paper (size A4 140lb (300gsm), ‘NOT’ (or cold pressed) surface), a variety of soft nylon watercolour brushes, , 2 large pots for water, drawing pen/biro, pencil (2B), note book, newspaper or plastic table cloth to protect table, apron or similar to protect clothes. Further equipment, including pens and ink, will be discussed at the first session.
Limited parking is available at the centre and there is on street parking (2 hour limit) nearby. Tea and coffee provided at a small charge. It is on the ground floor and accessible for wheelchairs, with disabled accessible toilet.
