Painting for Beginners
This course (face to face) is aimed at beginners who wish to try out various painting techniques and improvers who are looking to refresh or develop their painting skills. We shall explore diluted (thin paint) and impasto (thick paint) painting techniques to make use of the versatility of acrylic paints. This will include colour mixing, capturing three-dimensional form through light and dark, texture, composition, etc. with a variety of subjects to include skies, landscapes, still life, etc. The course will be structured around demonstrations and set work.
Pen and Wash
This course (face to face) is aimed at beginners and improvers who are looking to refresh or develop their pen and wash skills and will be structured around demonstrations, set work and students’ own projects. Skills and confidence in the techniques of pen drawing, applying watercolour and ink washes will be developed. A variety of subjects will be covered.
Online: Watercolour for Beginners
This 10 week course is aimed at beginners. Each week one or two topics will be covered to enable you to gain confidence and the skills to create your own watercolour paintings. A variety of techniques and subjects will be covered. The handout and video link will be emailed to you by 11.00am each Wednesday, so you can work on them at your convenience within the 10 weeks of the course.
Online: Watercolour for Improvers
This course is suitable for those who have completed the first 10-week beginners course with me and those who have basic skills in watercolour painting. Skills and confidence will be developed in applying watercolours to paint a variety of scenes. This 10 week course consists of a detailed handout, links to demonstrations on YouTube (sent out each Tuesday) and individual feedback via email, thus enabling you to study in the comfort of your own home at a time that suits you.

This course is suitable for those who have completed the beginners and improvers courses with me and those who have basic skills in watercolour painting. Skills and confidence will be developed in applying watercolours to paint a variety of subject matter. Study in the comfort of your own home at a time that suits you and have individual feedback on your work if you wish.

This course is suitable for those who have completed the beginners and improvers courses with me and those who have basic skills in watercolour painting. Skills and confidence will be further developed in applying watercolours to paint a variety of subject matter. Study in the comfort of your own home at a time that suits you and have individual feedback on your work if you wish.
